2 pound Italian sausage
4 cups pepperoni, diced, or sliced pepperoni chopped
4 1/2 cups diced fresh mushrooms
4 cups green bell pepper, diced
4 cups chopped onion
8 cloves minced garlic
11 cups beef broth
1 pizza sauce, #10 Can Tuttorosso® Fresh Pizza Sauce
2 tablespoons dried basil
2 tablespoons dried oregano
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper, flakes
1 teaspoon whole fennel seed
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
shredded mozzarella cheese, for garnish
garlic bread, or garlic butter croutons, for garnish
3 ½ lbs Red Gold Crushed Ground Tomatoes, (approx. 1/2 pouch)


  • In a large rondeau, sauté sausage and pepperoni together until sausage is no longer pink. Add mushrooms, green pepper, onion and garlic for 3 to 5 minutes until onions are starting to soften.  Add beef broth, Tuttorosso Fresh Pizza Sauce, Red Gold Crushed Ground Tomatoes, and seasonings. 
  • Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Stir in Parmesan cheese.
  • Garnish with shredded mozzarella cheese and garlic bread or garlic butter croutons.
